Hiring Experts
These terms apply when you hire an expert through Aiyubot. The expert side of the same rules is in the Expert terms.
1. Aiyubot's role
Experts are independent professionals, not Aiyubot employees. Aiyubot is not a party to your agreement with an expert and does not supervise the work. You decide whom to hire, on what terms, and you are responsible for checking an expert's suitability; ratings and badges are informational, not a guarantee. Where you and the expert have not agreed otherwise, the Default Service Contract Terms apply between you, and you become the owner of work product once you have paid for it in full.
2. Posting jobs
Job posts are reviewed automatically and some are held for review by our team before they appear. Posts must describe real work, must not contain contact details, and must not discriminate. You cannot post jobs while acting as an expert. Approved experts may send you proposals; a proposal's bid is not binding until you and the expert approve a milestone or agreement.
3. Agreeing and paying for work
Aiyubot adds a platform fee of 10% to the agreed price you pay for expert work; the same percentage is deducted from the expert's payout.
- Milestones. You fund each milestone by card through Aiyubot's checkout before work starts; funds are not taken from your credits. After the expert submits, you have 7 days to accept, request changes or raise a concern. If you do nothing, the payment is released to the expert automatically.
- Daily and weekly agreements. Hours logged in each period are billed when it ends, to your saved card by default, or by invoice if you switch. Periods are paid straight to the expert with no review window, so raise questions about logged hours before a period is paid. Two unpaid periods pause the agreement.
- Instant hourly sessions. A saved card is required; each hour is charged as it is worked, any overcharge is refunded when the session ends, and you then have 7 days to review it.
- Bonuses. Bonuses and expense reimbursements are paid at once, are non-refundable and cannot be disputed.
The full rules are in the Milestone Payment Instructions and Hourly & Session Payment Instructions, which bind you as the client.
4. Concerns and refunds
If you are unhappy with milestone work, request changes first. You can raise a concern once you have asked for changes at least once. If nothing has ever been delivered, you can raise one once the milestone's due date has passed (from the day after it), or, where there is no due date, 14 days after funding. The expert can raise a concern once they have submitted, and keeps that right if you then ask for changes. Concerns can be raised on milestones that are funded, in progress, submitted or awaiting changes. Raising a concern freezes the milestone's funds, and Aiyubot decides whether to release them to the expert, split them, or refund you to your original payment method. Refunds of funded work happen only this way. Released payments, paid periods and bonuses cannot be disputed. Charging back a payment for work that was delivered is fraud.
Whoever raised a concern can withdraw it until Aiyubot starts settling it. The milestone then returns to where it was, and if it had been submitted, your review window picks up where it left off.
When reviewing a concern, Aiyubot reviews the deliverables and files, the work log, the milestone's change history and the messages between you and the expert on Aiyubot, and you agree that support may read them for that purpose. Support may add a note explaining the outcome, which is shared with both parties.
5. Reviewing experts
You can leave one review per contract, a rating of 1 to 5 stars with a comment, and update it later. Reviews are shown with your name and picture to signed-in users. They must be honest and based on your own experience; you may not offer or accept anything in exchange for a review.
6. Keeping work on Aiyubot
For 24 months after you first meet an expert through Aiyubot, all payment for work with them must go through Aiyubot. Before an agreement exists, do not exchange contact details, and never exchange payment details. Do not offer or accept off-platform payment, discounts for paying elsewhere, or private delivery. Breaches can lead to warnings, removal of content, restricted access and permanent closure of the accounts involved. The full rules are in the Non-Circumvention & Conduct Policy.
7. Release
You release Aiyubot, its affiliates and their personnel from claims arising from a dispute between you and an expert, including about the quality of work, to the fullest extent the law allows. Where it applies, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542 and similar laws.
